Empowering Latino Leaders Through Enduring Partnerships

The Wendy Martinez Legacy Project proudly supports Florida Atlantic University programs through scholarship initiatives for promising students from the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College for two principal reasons. First, this university was Wendy’s alma mater, reflecting a meaningful and enduring connection to her academic foundation. Second, this support advances opportunities for exceptional Latina students who exemplify Wendy’s spirit, particularly in leadership ability, commitment to excellence, and community service.

Over the past six years, seventeen students have directly benefited from the Wendy Martinez Legacy Project through financial support. This commitment will continue and expand through the endowed fund our foundation has settled with FAU ensuring sustained impact to propel future generations. This initiative remains a vital component of our foundation’s mission and a cornerstone of its second strategic pillar. 

The Congressional Hispanic leadership Institute - CHLI 

The Wendy Martinez Legacy Project proudly supports the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute in Washington, D.C., to advance the development of young Latino professionals. This partnership reflects Wendy’s enduring legacy, as she was also an intern and co-founder of the CHLI’s Alumni Association and demonstrated a firm, lifelong commitment to empowering Latino professionals to succeed. Through this support, the foundation helps cultivate leadership, expand career pathways, and strengthen a pipeline of talent dedicated to service and impact.

Since 2019, CHLI established The Wendy Martinez Community Engagement Award to recognize Wendy’s leadership and contribution to expand CHLI’s continued support to its interns through the alumni association and networking. The Wendy Martinez Scholarship was also established to assist alumnus in their journey to success in Washington, D.C. and across USA.

This initiative is a key component of the foundation’s mission and reinforces its commitment to leadership advocacy and development within the Latino Communities.
